We’re Hosting a Sensory Friendly EXchange Annual Conference and Staycation for Autism United of Wisconsin

We are thrilled to announce that our resort will be hosting the Autism United of Wisconsin Autism eXchange Annual Conference and Staycation July 11-12, 2025. This conference is dedicated to advancing support and innovation in Autism research and services throughout Wisconsin. It will bring together diverse group of experts, advocates, caregivers, and individuals on the Autism spectrum to share insights and strategies that truly make a difference.

In preparation for the conference, our resort staff is working closely with conference organizers to create a more sensory-friendly experience for our guests during this special time.

Sensory-Friendly Features:

  • On July 11 from 10 am to 7 pm, the music in our Wild West Waterpark will be lowered.
  • On July 12 from 11 am to 6 pm, the dump bucket in Klondike Kavern will be turned off, and the music in both Klondike Kavern and the Wild WaterDome will be adjusted for a quieter experience.
  • Our Wilderwoods Arcade games will be operating at half volume on both July 11 and 12. Additionally, Autism United Sensory Bags will be available at the arcade redemption counters for families to use during their visit.

Dining Options:

  • At Glacier Canyon Conference Center, we will offer a family-friendly menu featuring pizza and pasta for lunches.
  • For dinner, the Tuscany Room at Sarento’s at the Wilderness will provide a sensory-friendly atmosphere with dim lighting and soft music. Autism United Sensory Bags will also be available at Sarento’s for families to use during their dining experience.

Exciting Giveaway: One lucky conference attendee will be awarded a one-night stay package, including two massage certificates for Sundara Spa.
